How Money from the Sponsored Walk will be Used

We have been asked how we will use the money that will be raised on the sponsored walk on Sunday. We can’t speak for the other groups but as far as Save Princes Parade is concerned, so far we have spent quite a bit of money on publicity – leaflets, the website, banners, hiring halls etc. This is largely been paid for by donations from a very small group of people. However we are now likely to need legal help eg for a judicial review if Shepway don’t follow the proper process in determining the planning application and perhaps legal representation if there is an inquiry. Lots of people have already made pledges towards this (we won’t collect the money until we know what legal action we need to take) but legal fees are very expensive so we need more people to pledge donations. We have set up a bank account and you can see our constitution on our website http://saveprincesparade.org/our-constitution/ But we see the walk on Sunday more of an opportunity to draw attention to our cause than a fundraising event so if you do feel free to come along even if you don’t have sponsorship.
