The much criticised efforts of the council to create a new reptile habitat (reptile receptor site) on the north bank of the Royal Military Canal (by clearing vegetation and felling trees) will not “provide a sufficient extent of good quality reptile habitat to allow translocation yet” (Lloyd Bore Ecological Method Statement 11/08/2021) so the reptiles will be translocated to a secondary receptor site at the cemetery at the western end of Spring Lane in Hythe.
